Health Benefits of Nuts




We hear the phrase "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". Now there is a recommendation by the experts "a handful of nuts a day keeps the doctor away.”   

According to the US and Chinese researchers from Hua Zhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China and Harvard School of Public Health in Boston in the United States, analyzing the health benefits of nuts by using data from a number of earlier in which included 18 different studies, covering more than 12000 cases of type two diabetes,15000 cases of heart disease and almost 50000 deaths.researches, found that daily diet of various nuts such as cashews Brazil nuts and peanuts, pistachios, almonds, walnuts and other tree nuts could curb deaths rates from heart diseases.

The results unravel, as published online in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, that daily diet of nuts can cut the risk of heart disease by between 28 and 29 % and drop the danger of death from any cause by 17%.  . 

As nuts are high in unsaturated fats, protein and vitamins, as well as antioxidants, and oils in nuts can reduce bad cholesterol and possibly inflammation in turn it lower risk of heart disease. However the researchers say following a cholesterol-lowering diet based on soy, nuts, and green vegetables is more likely to reduce bad cholesterol than a low fat diet.
